Our team of qualified consultants have over 70 years’ experience in a wide variety of industries and trades, such as civil, construction, engineering, agriculture and local government.
We are practical, hands on people with a variety of backgrounds, experience and interests, who share a passion for connecting others with health and safety.

Tracey Stevenson - Director
Tracey founded Health and Safety Connexions in May 2017 after more than 10 years’ experience in health and safety in local government and over 20 years in the private sector. Tracey has a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, and a NEBOSH International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety. Tracey is also a Registered Professional of the Health and Safety Association of New Zealand (HASANZ).
Outside of work, Tracey likes to spend her weekends doing DIY around home or relaxing out on the water when possible.
Karin Barclay - Senior Consultant
Karin joined the team in November 2022 and has over 20 years’ experience in the building, agriculture and facilities management industries and 10 years in local government. Karin has a Graduate Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, is qualified in health, safety and quality auditing.
Outside of work, Karin's an outdoor enthusiast who loves tramping through nature and skiing down mountains. When she's not outside, she enjoys getting lost in a good book and giving back to the community through volunteering.
Stacey Blake - Consultant
Stacey joined the team in April 2023 with significant public sector health and safety experience. She is adept at software systems and works with clients to become prequalified. Stacey has a National Certificate in Health and Safety.
Outside of work, Stacey loves fishing, getting out on the Harley, rugby league and supporting the NZ Warriors at every home game she can get to, playing snooker, bush walks and travel. Recently, she has moved to part time hours to support family and focus on personal development. She is also writing a book!
Tra Bonner - Consultant
Tra joined the team in October 2023 with significant local government and transport industry experience, she also brings significant human resources knowledge to the team and is our new ConstructSafe Supervisor carrying out assessments. Tra has a National Certificate in Health and Safety.
Outside of work, Tra enjoys baking, sewing and spending time with her whānau, when she's not hanging out with trucks!
Corina Martin - Consultant
Corina joined our team in May 2024. She has significant experience in customer service and local government. She also has a vast knowledge of Civil Defence operations. Corina has a Diploma in Business Administration, Adult Education and Occupational Health and Safety Management. She is passionate about processes, wellbeing, and stakeholder engagement.
Outside of work, Corina spends her time volunteering in the community, relaxing and learning in the garden and spending time with her family and her dog, Cheese.
Carol Stevens - Consultancy Assistant
Carol joined the team in February 2021 working part time as an assistant to our consultants. She brings a wide range of leadership and customer support skills, in addition to various other organisational skills.
Outside of work, Carol loves being out in the fresh air. Her favourite combo is the sun shining on a great beach, there's a good book on the go and it's wine o'clock!
Gaye Dixon - Accounts Officer
Gaye joined the team in April 2019 working part time as the financial officer. She has a Diploma in Accounting and has a lifetime of experience in managing financial systems, budgets, forecasting and ensures we run efficiently.
Outside of work, Gaye enjoys completing jigsaws and working in her garden.
